Does Mylicon Make Your Baby Sleepy

My daughter has been extremely fussy in the afternoons and my pedi said that she might be developing colic. I thought some of it might be cause of gas. I just started giving my daughter Mylicon for her gas. It seems to be working, she's not as fussy, but she seems to sleep all the time. She wakes up to eat and then she falls back to sleep. Is this normal? Also, how often am I supposed to be giving her the drops? The past couple of days I was giving it to her after every meal. Can I give it to her less than that for it to work?

It wouldn't make her sleepy. She is probably just feeling better so she is sleeping better. I would follow the dosing on the bottle. I can't remember what it says but I always just gave it to my babies when they were fussy and seemed to need it.

Actually my doc said you can give her as much as you want, it can't harm the LO. It is not absorbed by the body, it just goes into her somach and breaks down the bubbles and pa__ses with urination. That being said, we used to give it to our LO before every feeding. Now we just gove it once in awhile. Try a sling for the fussy afternoons.

The Mylicon never did much for my dd. In fact, my doctor said it's 90% ineffective. If you're the lucky 10%, and it makes baby feel better, I say go for it!
