Does The Pacifier Size Really Matter

My son will only take an avent size 0-3mths pacifier. I have tried the size 3-6mths and he gags and spits it out. Does it really matter what size it is or is this their way of making you buy more? Do other makers have sizes on their's? He is almost six months old I know he won't take their size 6+mths. Thanks!

If he doesnt like pacifier then dont give it to him again. My daughter always spit it out, so I stopped trying to give it to her.

My daughter stopped really using her pacifier at 8 months, although she still plays with them at 13 months. I have nover purchased any size other then 0-3. The others gagged her.

I think size matters only when you try to give a newborn a size that's too big, rather than giving a 6 month old one that's too small. :o)

my 6 week old always spits out the small size pacifier but will suck on the larger ones, should i let him use the larger ones or stick to the little ones?
