Drinking Less With Similac Vs Gentlease

My 4 month old (16lbs) has been on formula for 2 months now. We went straight onto Enfamil Gentlease after BF (per doc's recommendations) because of projectile vomiting. Well, gradually he went from spitting up tons to not spitting up at all, so I decided to try him on Similac Advance. I want his body to get used to digesting the full content of milk, and I also wanted to see if the spitting up would start again. I started putting 1/4 Similac to every bottle and slowly increased that amount until we are now at 50/50. We are on day 3 of the transtion, but what I have noticed is that he is drinking less than he was when on the 100% Gentlease. Instead of 7-8oz he is taking 5-6oz. Has anyone experienced or heard of this? can one formula be more filling than than the other? IMO drinking 5-6oz a bottle seems more normal for his age and size
