Family Could Really Use Enfamil Coupons

My mother works with a woman who is trying very hard to make ends meet. To make things worse, their baby was just diagnosed as being 60-75% deaf. Any extra money will go towards the purchase of hearing aids once the child turns 6 months old. Unfortunately, their insurance does not see the hearing aids as a necessity. My mom said that the hearing aids cost $2000 each. Ouch! If you can help, please send me an e-mail and I will give you my mom's address. I am sure the family would be very appreciative of everyone's help. [email protected]

$2000.00 each?!?! Ouch, indeed! Our oldest daughter is profoundly deaf in her right ear and has mild loss in the left. Her aides costed $900 and I thought that was high. I don't know where this woman lives, but we live in Virginia and went through a program called Children's Specialty Services and her aides were paid for 100%---they even pay for some of her batteries each month. Batteries are expensive as well and last 4-5 days! I would advise this woman to do some research to see if there ar eany programs out there to help with cost. I don't know if she is in the United States or not, but if so a good place to start inquiring would be the local Dept. of Social Services and Health Dept. Although the program we went through is not part of the State Health Dept., that is where we found out about it.

I talked to mom. You are right. They are $2000 for the pair. They live in Montana. I have never met the gal, but my mom talks a lot about her because she has a baby that is 6 weeks older then our dd. That would make her baby 13 weeks old. Thanks for the suggestion for a__sistance. Mom was going to help her contact the Shriners and Easter Seals...we don't know much about this sort of stuff. The girl's mother has offered to help financially, but unfortunately her money comes with "requirements". From what I have heard, she is not a very pleasant woman. It is best not to "owe" her anything. That is why the girl and her husband are trying so hard on their own.
