Feeding your baby flat on their back can increase the chance of an ear infection from what I have heard.

I heard that it can cause ear infactions if you don't prop your baby up while feeding. If you use a pillow to put under the babies head if should be fine, though. Hope that helped.

What about sitting them up to eat?

It is generally not a good idea to feed your LO lying down because they can choke, and milk can pool in their ear causing ear infections. I would say too if your LO isn't very good at expelling gas on her own yet you should probably try to burp her every 2-3 oz...well you don't have to, but it does help with gas.

Amy, my brother who is a doctor recommends to ALWAYS hold baby upstraight to feed her and he put it this way: Try yourself to drink a pitcher of water while laying flat on your back.
