Food Allergy Or The Bug Dd Vomiting Rash

i put a call in to our dr. but what do you think? yesterday morning my 8 month old vomited what seemed to be ALL of her 1st bottle, then again a bit more about an hour later. that was it. we thought she just overate since she ate about 1 more oz than normal. but last night during the night she vomited ALL over her crib, poor thing, and slept in it till morning. so when i gave her a bath this morning i noticed a small rash on her chest, not raised bumps. thinking that could be signs of a food allergy? the only thing she's had both days is peaches, which she's had before but not for a while, probably over a month. she never seemed to like them so i just stopped buying them and stuck with the fruits she did like, but dh bought some so i've been trying them again and she's been eating them for the past 3 days. but when she vomited yesterday morning she had not eaten anything yet and the last time she had peaches was the morning before so it had almost been 24 hours, so that kinda makes me think its not peaches...? last night we heard her fussing around 11pm but we didn't go in because she stopped after a few minutes (guessing that's when she vomited), so that was like 5 hours after her dinner (she had 1/2 container of peaches) and 4 hours after her bottle. she's acting normal and eating normal, too. any ideas????????

Sounds like it is possible, just be sure to mention all of that to your pedi. Hope she feels better soon!

Also I was thinking if she slept in the vomit, then it could have possibly made her skin raw. So maybe it isn't a rash.

kimberly, she was in warm PJ's so it touch her skin.

There are othe illnesses a__sociated with a rash. I know fifth disease is but I can't remember where the rash is. Most likely is an allergy.

ok talked to my dr.'s nurse and she thinks it sounds like the beginning of a bug and that diarrea is next. she said its pretty unlikely a food allergy? i was surprised to hear that. i just dont know because dd is acting totally normal and eating/sleeping well. we are supposed to go out of town tomorrow to visit relatives but i dont want to get their kids sick if its the bug. ahhhhh! guess we'll see how she does tonight.

I believe a rash from food allergy would look like hives...raised bumps. Did she have a fever that you noticed? My dd had Roseola Virus a few months ago and had a slight fever for 2 days and then a rash all over her torso and then diarrhea, but vomitting is also a side effect. My dd acted normal and ate normal as well. There's nothing you can do for the virus. Just a thought... GL

alida, thanks, i never thought of that, but she has not had a fever and is totally acting normal and playing, laughing, crawling, etc. we will see how she does again tonight, so far today she's been fine so the last time she vomited was around 11pm last night.
