Freeze Dried Fruit

With Mason coming off of formula, I am trying to make sure he gets enough of the right stuff. he does not like fruit. he will only take it in pureed form and even then he isn't happy about it (he is fine with veggies). What can I say, he is a freak. Anyway, he DOES like those freeze dried fruit snacks you can buy. All they are is fruit, but they are freeze dried. Does that process strip everything out or would they be healthy?

Gosh I hope they are still healthy because my Mason eats them like they are candy. He won't eat any fruit unless it is pureed either. I don't know for sure but I would a__sume they are still healthy.

It does something to them to alter the sugar somehow. Not exactly sure. But from a Weight Watchers standpoint (Bonnie, d__n WW haunts my every move!) fruit is Core, but dried fruit is not Core because the sugar content is really high.

IMO there is nothing wrong with still giving him pureed fresh fruit. Will he eat it mixed into the oatmeal?

hmmm....interesting nerdygirl. This is not good. I seriously can't get mason to eat any fruit unless it is pureed. He is even starting to get picky about veggies too. Little stinker.

Mason comes and goes onthe veggies. I really think it's a texture thing. But he generally eats enough veggies to be okay. Still, I like to keep fruit in there. He won't even touch juice....and lol nerdygirl, the WW Core thing was why I asked, lmao

Okay, so I did a little searching today on the subkect and I am ha[[y to report that freeze dried fruit is, in fact, very good for you. Fresh is always better. It is more filling, contains water which we need, and freeze dried can lose some of the vitamin C. Freeze dried also has a higher sugar content. But beyond that, it's still very good. Mason really likes those, and as expensive as they are, I am more inclined to give him those than the puffs now.
