Gas Pains

My two week old son has a gas problem. He gets colicky and wants to feed and feed because he gets the gas cramps confused with hunger pangs, then he pukes and cries some more. I am strictly br___tfeeding him. The nurse and I decided I have an overactive letdown, and he is gulping too much air to keep up with the flow of my milk. I have tried ovol drps and gripe water, neither of which seem to work wonders. Any more ideas?????

Have you tried doing bicycle legs? Also, maybe you could pump for a few minutes before feeding.

I agree, bicycle works with releasing some of the gas. Also, try to burp him constantly. Burp him after each ounce is eaten. If you are b___stfeeding and he is eating for 30 minutes (fast), try to burp him every 10 minutes. If he does not give you a good burp, then try to sit him up straight...next to you...for 10 minutes and then try the burping again.

If you have over active let down pump for a few minutes to ease your milk flow then attach baby.
