does anyone just use sodium free canned veg instead of the more expensive "baby" veg?

The canned stuff is a bit harder. I.e. the Gerber grads is a bit softer. I used the Gerber grads until he got fairly comfortable and then switched to the salt free canned after.

You may be able to cook them for a while longer to soften them up. I personally hate canned veggies (YUCK!)....I just don't like the taste. I use frozen which tend to be harder, too. I always cooked them extra long for my babies to make them tender.

I used the sodium free canned, as well. The carrots and green beans are pretty soft, but the mixed veggies weren't as soft. Anyway, I'm cheap, so if there's a cheaper way, I'll find it lol ;-)

We, too, use the canned. We get more veggies for less money!
