Giving Babies Suckers

Okay, this may be a stupid question but can I give my baby suckers? My mom used to give them to me every now and then starting at my first Halloween when I was a month old. If they dont have anything bad in them other than sugar, I thought I'd try giving my baby one when she is having her "fussy time". Anyone?

I wouldn't introduce anything to a baby that young, let alone sugar. Babies don't need to have any extra energy.

I am hoping to go to at least the age of 1 before my daughter gets coke, candy, or anyother type of sugar that is not needed (none is really needed but there is always juice, baby food, etc) My family tried to give her a candy cane at Christmas and that was the only "good" thing about her being sick. I have been fighting them off with their candy since like 4th of July. I would really hate for my daughter to get my bad eating habits and I want her to be healthy. Her father and I are both trying to be healthier for her and for ourselves. I have seen people giving their children (under the age of 1) popsicles, suckers, coke, and much much more so I guess there is nothing that can "harm" them so to say but to avoid addiction at such an early age I would steer clear. My daughter loves ice from Sonic so we do small chips of that when she is fussy and it clears it right up!

We kept away from junk foods till 2 and they are VERY limited.
