What traits do YOU notice about your baby when they are going thru a growth spurt? Just curious b/c I think dd is hitting one and wondering if you notice the same kinds of things...?? Thx :)

Do you mean like what do they do when they go through one? Marcy sleeps a lot more. She naps well and goes to bed early and sleeps late. She may or may not get up to eat. She usually gets up less often to eat but will eat a lot more or more vigorously when she is growing a lot. She hasn't really had one of these for a while. I also notice other things don't tend to happen durring that time. Like she didn't learn to crawl durring a growth spurt, or to pull herself up. Those things happened afterward. It is like they put all their energy into that one thing and they cant' do anything elseā€¦..

i was wondering the same, as i have never been able to detect a growth spurt in him at all and he's 4.5 months now! he has aways eaten a lot and every 2-3 hrs and he has never been a good sleeper so ........... i thought min might of gone through one 2 weeks ago as he was eating about 10oz a day more but he was the same way yesterday, ate 50oz in a 24 hr peroid and had a c___ppy night. he was up every 2 hrs and wanted to eat, buut he did nap well which is unsual, he had a 2hr nap which has only happened once or twice before.

yeah like different habbits they pick up or start during one....dd will only be 6wks on monday, so I'm not sure if this in fact IS a growth spurt or she's just been very fussy the padt couple days...

Yeah, dd has been VERY fussy today and yesterday...which is not like her, plus she's not been sleeping well at all the past 2 nights...she also seems to want to eat a lot more often and is very restless and wakes up screaming which is also not like her. She was like this a few weeks ago btw 3/4 weeks...wondering if this is around a growth spurt time...here we go again now....

I don't know, that's part of my question, when are the times of growth spurts usually? I've heard 3wks, 6wks, are common...?? Anybody know??

I think it is diff for every baby. It is possoible that they could have one so close. Just liek I said my girls always slept better or more and you ladie have mentioned yours dont sleep well. The only way to tell is to weigh and messure the length regularly......
