poor dd is miserable! she started with a cold about 2 1/2 days ago. dr. said there's not much we can do about it but wait it out. we are giving her saline drops and a little tylenol. dh and i also have it and it sucks, feels almost like the flu to me so i can see why my dd is miserable. how long does a cold for these little ones generally last?

I don't know how long they normally last, but my ds, dh and I all have had acold for 7 days now. Yesterday my ds started gagging and threw up a bunch of mucus. Poor little guy. He also has a hard time nursing in the am because it's hard to breathe. We bought a humidifier and runit at night and that seems to help. Hope you all start feeling better soon!

Oh no I woke up today with a sore throat and a stuffy nose and feel terrible. Chloe seems fine but who knows what tomorrow will bring. UGH! I feel bad I hate to think how they must feel sick. Can you take anything while nusing?

My ds got his first cold right when he turned exactly 4 months old. It lasted about a week. But the first few days were the worst. He was congested and had a nasty cough. I kept his head elevated in the crib to reduce some of his stuffiness, used the nasal aspirator a lot to keep all that snot out, used the Vicks humidifier in his room during the night, and then dosed him with Tylenol when he felt especially bad (usually at night). Dh just got over a cold and neither I or ds got it thankfully! I'm hoping we can get through the winter without getting another cold. Ds is getting the flu shot next month which should help a little.
