My dd sleeps ok during the night and seems to love to sleep even more during the day. I know she is still a little stinker, but how much do they usually sleep?

My dd is 7 mo so I am going back a little to remember, but I know I had the same question for my Dr. He said to try not to have them sleep more than 3-4 hours at a time because then they tend to start getting their days and nights reversed. My dd slept 1-2 hours about an hour after each nursing session and then slept about 8 hours straight at night. I have read that a good napper tends to be a great nighttime sleeper! Hope that helps a little?? :) GL

Googling your question: At 3 months a baby needs 10hrs nighttime sleep & 5hrs naptime (3 naps). At 6 months they need 11hrs nighttime sleep & 3.25 naptime (2 naps). At 11 wks my lo was sleeping 10-11 hrs nighttime sleep & about 4.5-5hrs nap time (3 naps). I've read to never let a baby sleep more than 2hrs (nap time) at a time because it can start to cut into their nighttime sleep.

At 11wks my lo started sleeping 10hrs at nite and was taking 3 naps (4.5hrs total) Unfortunately, he has now stopped sleeping thru the nite:-) Still trying to figure out why!!! He's 15 wks.

My dd will go to bed around 9:30 p.m and then get up around 2:30, like clock work. I'll give her a bottle and then she only sleeps for two hours at a time. At 11 wks I thought she would start to sleep a little better.
