How Much To Pay

I'll be going back to work soon and my Mom planson watching the baby and not charging however she will not be home until 5:15 and I need to drop baby off at 2:45. My aunt and Grandma said she will watch the baby. However, my aunt babysits for a living and will be charging me and acts like I need to figure out a price. The price will go by day and not week but I work a rotation to where I will only need her 3-5 days per week. Does anyone know what is fair? I live in Indiana, and she's my aunt. DD will be 6 weeks then. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hey! I'm from Indiana! don't live there any more but I was born and raised! I also worked as a nanny. I think in IN you can pay 6-7 $ an hour. maybe 6 since its your aunt AND it's only for a couple of hours.

I live in Indiana too! How much snow did you guys get yesterday? Our sitter charges charges $5 per hour per day or $150 per week full time. She would prefer to have your child full time instead of part time so she gives you better pricing for the week.

I watch a baby full time (35 hrs a week) and I charge $150 a week, for part time I charge $100 a week (20+) hrs a week. I charge more for parttime because anything less then $100 a week isnt worth it and parttime or not it takes up a space a can't fill for another baby full time. Because of this many people don't offer parttime care. Good luck!

I live in Illinois and pay $125 a week. She watches dd from 8am to 4pm- so that comes out to about $3 an hour. I would say that is fair- especially if it is family.
