I Finally Did CIO It Worked

I have attempted the cry it out method several times with my dd. She is hard to put to sleep at night but once she falls asleep she will sleep 10pm-6:30am. Anyways, I could never do cry it out until last night, I always felt bad and ended up going in her room. Well, she is almost 4 months now, and I guess I finally just had enough of struggling to get her down at night. Plus she is older and i can tell its basically just a fake cry to get me to go back in there. So last night FINALLY I told my husband "just let her cry", she cried for about 10-15 minutes and then was out like a light and didnt wake up until about 6:45am. Im gonna continue to let her cry it out and hopefully in a few days she will get it and just go to sleep when i lay her down instead of crying. Just some encouragement to those you have tried CIO unsucessfully or who are thinking about doing it. I wouldnt do it until after they are 3 months old, but just make sure they are fed, changed, and warm/cool enough and they will be fine. I promise!!

CIO worked wonderfully for us as well. We just checked on him every 15-20 minutes bt did not pick him up. It is a great method, but it is not for everyone. My only advice about CIO (or any other sleep method), is to be consistent about it, otherwise it may just confuse him/her. ;)

wow, I have a 9 week old and she is still in our bedroom at night and I am not looking forward to putting her in her own room....its nice to see that your baby only cried for 15 minutes! and then slept through the night, my baby is still getting up at 11, 3, 5, and then up for the day at 7. I wish I could get her to sleep throught the night!
