Ok you are all going to think I'm a moron but I didn't know you had to take out the plastic piece inside the sippy cup to clean it. I figured that washing the cup in the dishwasher was all that it needed infact didn't even know the plastic piece came out. Ds has been on the sippy since he was 5 months- augh Thats embarrassing!!!

Oh, that's okay. Now you know. How old is your son? You said he's been on it since 5 months? So how nasty was it, LOL?

Also, blame it on sleep deprivation. That seems to always work for the first year:-)

You are not the only one LIsaB, I did that too after he used it for a week and washing throughout, I didnt realize I had to take it apart....lol

Don't feel bad, we all have our moments! So, how did you finally find out that it came out?

Ok my ds will be 15 months on the 10th!!! It was only bad in one sippy- but still gross- I am a total germaphobe. Made my skin crawl. My bf (best friend not boyfriend dh would be mad hehe!!)was over and she said ever so tactfully um Lisa you know you need to take these out and clean them- I had no idea she thought it was the funniest thing ever cuz of what a neat/clean freak I am. Oh well lesson learned- ds never had a bottle and the sippy is new to me so how was I too know that? How did you all know they came out? Is it just common knowledge cuz I missed it completely. Darn there goes the trophy and award.....

Most cups come with a little piece of paper inside with instructions explaining it.......you're one of those that toss the instructions to everything, aren't you?...LOL. Actually, I can see why a person would not think they needed to read directions to use a cup. Sounds kind of goofy when you think about it!

LOL Rabbits, that was me. When I opened the package for the sippy cup, I was, "wow, who needs instructions for a darn sippy cup?" Then tossed it right into the garbage. .HAHAha

I knew b/c I worked in daycare previously lol.

Don't feel bad... I was just reading the one circ_mcision thread and saw that you are supposed to push back the skin every so often. I have had two boys and I never knew that... little late now, I guess lol...

LisaB - February 6

Busted- I dont read instrucions- its a cup how hard can it be????????/ Apparently off the charts for me- thankfully ds never got sick. Sahmof3 I actually knew about the cir. because my friends lo had to have the doctor tear it back after it reattached yikes don't think I'll ever forget that- atleast you didn't throw away the instructions hehe.

I did the same too for quite a while. I actually knew it could come out but didn't realize it was necessary. I didn't take them out because I thought it would make them loose(which it does). The first time I saw what was in there I almost died. GROSS!!! Glad I'm not alone.

lol.. don't be embarra__sed... i didn't even know they came with directions!! shows how quickly I toss out the packaging!! LOL!!

Oh theres a plastic piece in it that needs to be taken out???????? Well join the club then, i've been using it for 3 months and i just learned this from your post heheh

LisaB - February 7

Yipee-I'm not alone!!

bekysu - February 7

I didn't know that for a very long time myself. Even now, I only take it out every 2-3 washing b/c like SonyaM said, it makes them loose and sippy cups ain't cheap! I like the ones with Elmo and Zoe on them. They either have a blue or yellow cap. There are no "little peices"
