With the vulgar games starting younger and younger, and then there was that teenager that stabbed another classmate to death in Mass. I don't even want to send my child to school anymore! It's getting awful, what can we do?

I agree with you! There is always something bad going on somewhere! Wether in school, on the way to school or on the way home! UGH! And my dh wonders why I'm so overprotective of my kids! Hmmmm It's a shame there is so much hatred/violence in the world today! I swear people have nothing better to do than to start trouble. Without it, their lives are empty.

yes i have really been thinking about this,my eldest ds is due to start senior school in september ,we will find out in march whether he will go to the catholic schol which has a good reputation or the local ghetto school around the corner. we are catholic but the school is oversubscribed, the ghetto school is always in the local papers for kids being in trouble ,fighting bullying and other stuff, its horrible and im dreading getting the envelope in march and it saying woodbridge[the ghetto]school,iv spoken to a couple of parents that i know that are considering homeschooling.

I was actaully talking about this with DH . I mean, bullying is getting so bad these days ! I remember a girl killed her self in my school because of the bullying.....Kids take it to far. Either they kill theirself, or someone else. Piratesmermaid...do they know the motive ?

SUDBURY, Ma__sachusetts (AP) -- A 15-year-old student was stabbed to death Friday morning in the hallway of a high school in this affluent Boston suburb, and a cla__smate was charged with the killing. James Alenson was stabbed in a fight with another male student before cla__ses began at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, District Attorney Gerard Leone said. The fight began in a bathroom and spilled into the hallway, Leone said. Alenson, a freshman, was pronounced dead at a Concord hospital. The 16-year-old suspect, who was identified in court papers as John Odgren, of Princeton, was to be arraigned as an adult on a murder charge Friday afternoon, Leone's office said. In first- and second-degree murder cases in Ma__sachusetts, anyone age 14 or older is automatically tried as an adult. Leone, who would not comment on a possible motive, called the fight an "isolated incident" between the two students. "There is no thought or belief that anyone else is in danger," he said. Mary Clemens, a 17-year-old senior, said that when she arrived at the campus, students had gathered in the cafeteria. "We were told by an administrator that someone was stabbed and it was bad, that that person was taken to the hospital and someone else had been taken to the police," Clemens said. Students were sent home that morning. "We're obviously heartbroken dealing with this," said John Ritchie, the school's superintendent and principal. About 1,600 students attend the school, which is about 15 miles west of Boston

I actually am planning on homeschoolin. I don't feel comfortable putting my child in public school for many reasons including violence. It's just not safe anymore... and that's really sad.

The only thing i am worried about is the interaction with other kids . I really want him to be a part of the whole, " prom" , football games, etc...

I too have been considering it myself. It is scary now a days. Ethan is only 1 so, I can only imagine what it will be like in 10 more years. Yikes!

I'm not at all worried about social interaction with other children. I plan on letting my children pick some cla__ses that they want to do, that involve other children and they'll got to Sunday school and have playdayates. not to mention I plan on having 3 kids so they will have siblings to play with. As matter of fact homeschooled students are known to do very well in the social aspect of life.
