Infant Life Jackets

We are looking for an infant life jacket for ds (14 weeks) as we would like to start taking our boat out again. We will be mostly going on the Intracoastal waterway with no ocean for a long while. We are having a hard time finding a Type I jacket for him. Type I says its "the most likely to flip an infant over". A type II says it "will likely flip an infant over". Any suggestions would be great especially if someone has used a brand with their infant. Also, has anyone heard that you should wait until the baby is 15 pounds until they go on a boat?

we purchased ours from ba__spro shop on-line. It was around $26 plus a little shipping. We have enjoyed it...plus it has bugs enjoying the "fun in the sun". I don't recall which type it is (I or II). Our state boating specialist recommended it. (he is a friend of the family).

Do a search on ba__s pro shop and use the key word "life vest infant" It is a type II life vest. There was another one that was red in color. I did not look up the specs on it. Cost $25

You can also try REI...they have one (type II though) for up to 30 lbs....cost is a little more though.
