Infant Nipple Discharge

My 6 week old son has a lump behind each nipple, and I notice that he has some clear discharge. I know this is normal for babies in the first few days after they are born, but is it normal for it to go on for this long? Or should I call his doctor? Did any of you have any experience with this?

I would definitley call your doc.

My son never had any discharge coming from his nipples. Give your doc a call about this. GL.

Well, I looked it up on WebMD, a site that I trust, and it says that this can happen for a few months after the baby is born, and it is nothing to worry about. Actually, it seems like a lot of sources are saying this. Plus, she just saw him last week, and didn't say anything about it. I might call just in case, bit I'm pretty sure it's normal. My first son didn't have it, but not every baby does.

I have read about this too. I am not sure how long it should last. From what I understand it is caused by the mothers hormones before he was born. I am sure he is fine, but it wouldn't hurt to mention it to his Dr.
