Interesting Problem

My daughter uses her paci to fall asleep. However, at some time during the night, she will take the paci out of her mouth and throw it off the bed. When she's in our room, it's not a big deal, because there is open space on either side of the bed. Her crib, however, is against a wall, and she invariably throws her paci on that side of the crib. Result, we have to move the crib daily to retrieve the pacifiers. Good for making sure it stays swept under the crib, but it's an annoyance. I don't want to put the bumber back in the crib, because she likes being able to see out. The only other thing I can think of is one of those mesh bumpers, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money. Any other ideas?

We actually have the same problem, and what we did was make a piece of fabric with loops to tie to her crib on the outside back side, and then tacked the other side to the wall. It's not pretty, but you really can't see it. In the morning, we just reach through the bars, and scoop the pacifier out of the net.

Could you make your own mesh bumper out of tulle? It comes in all different colors, is see thru, and costs about 77 cents a yard around here. Just a thought!

No, for me, buying fabric is really expensive, since I have to get it either online or on the German economy.

What about using one of those net hammock deals they sell to store stuffed animals in? Maybe you could configure it like ArpilMum did with the fabric.

I'm kind've having a brainstorm...I have extra crib sheets, I could find some way to hook one to the back of the crib kinda like AprilMum's idea...

I have an idea maybe you could buy 5 of the same paci so only once a week you have to move the crib. Not sure if will be easier just my idea.

is having to move the crib everyday such a pain in the b___t that you would spend money to fix it?? I have to change my daughter crib sheet everday ( dang leaky diapers!!) and while its a pain i wouldent go and spend any extra money to not have to do it everyday. I say get rid of the paci, or just keep retrieving it everday.

Can you just buy one of those pacifier clips and clip it to her pajama's? :o)

Hannahbaby, did you actually read my post, or are you just trying to start a problem with me? Let me quote myself for you: "The only other thing I can think of is one of those mesh bumpers, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money. Any other ideas?" As far as moving the crib every day, it's bad for our hardwood floors. There are now scratches on our floors that I'm sure we'll have to pay for when we move. So why not go to another thread and offer constructive advice rather than continuing to hara__s me?

hm, a bit defensive are we?? Why do you have to move the crib? My daughter throws her socks between the wall and crib and i can crawl (at 6 months pregnant) under the crib to get them

AprilMum - June 24

I would commend your pregnant feat, but ....why not just get a broom, and drag it out?

hello - June 25

Here u can buy the string to attach it to their clothes, but i guess thats not overly safe at sleep time..... i would be opting for a broom as the other person said........ i have to say to hannah that i have stuck up for you in other posts when i have seen dana's mom who must have no life constantly stalking you but needless to say you ask all the time why people pick on you.... proclaiming its because you have strong views on things. Its because you are very b___hy and although i have moments too with jamie and no doubt with you, i have to say your reply to her was b___hy and she was right in her reply to you... You have been made aware numerous times the way you come across so i guess maybe next time when u reply in your style of replying that isnt very nice ignoring it would be the way to go........

hello - June 25

and clip was the word i was looking for.. thanks to reading tiffanis reply later on

I hae the same problem with my ds - every night I just keep giving him another paci and this morning I had to drag out 4 from under his crib this morning. LOL i've thought about getting the clip thing for him as well but I don't find it to be such a huge annoyance. I feel you on the hardwood though -- we have hardwood as well and I'm still praying that it doesn't scratch, though our crib has wheels so it's easier to move. Good luck with finding a solution, I know it's a pain.

didnt think my post came across badly....sorry if you did

HannahBaby - June 25

and i also never wondered why people thought that i came along b___hy. I have people that like me for who i am, and people who hate me for who i am, life will always be like that. You cant impress everyone and i dont think that i should have to talk one way so one person will like me, and then another so another person will like me. I am who i am
