Is This Normal Worried

My dd is 5 mos and just learned to sit by herself. I also noticed that she tilts her head to the left a lot, and will bend her back so she's practically at a 90 degree angle. Is that normal? She doesn't do it to her right side, and does it mostly when she's upset.

Well, five months sitting is early. She is probably not near as strong as she will be in the next month or two. She's probably okay. Try not to sit dd up too much until she is stronger. Have you tried the boppy or the bumbo?

I guess I wasn't too clear. She is sitting up now, and it coincided with this head tilting thing - although she doesn't do it just when she's sitting. I will be carrying her and she'll kind of flop her head over. I'm just not sure if it's worth a trip to the doctor or not.

my lo did this for about 2 weeks at around 5 months old and still occasionally, she will be on my hip (being carried) and all of a sudden she will flop backwards like she is trying to see sometrhing on the roof. She is 7 months now and she thinks its quite funny. I wouldnt worry it is quite common.

My lo holds his head to the side too. The doctor said it was from his neck muscles being tense. The way I lay him in his crib, I a__sumed was cramping his neck. They reconmended I do neck excersies to stretch it.
