Oh Jamie, that is so exciting!! My inlaws came over from Holland on Jan 13 and left the 23rd.We had an AWESOME time but................saying goodbye was horrible.I still miss them.Aren't you from Missouri?

Jamie - January 31

yes, yes, I am...we're spending a week in Kansas City, MO, then going to Austin TX for a week, then to Dallas TX for a week, then DH is coming back to Germany and I'm spending a week in St. Louis, MO with my mom. (DH can't stand my mom, and refused to go with me. Oh well. :-S ) I'm impatient, I want to go home!

I can imagine your being anxious!!! It will be so nice to see everybody and them meeting your baby!!! We had great weather (I am in Oklahoma) and we where even able to go to the zoo!! Jesse judst adored his grandparents.I think you will enjoy going to Wal-Mart again LOL.Thats one of the things I got so used to....I think I would have a hard time adjusting if I would ever move back to Holland!! So,do you already have the tickets?

Jamie - January 31

Yep, bought them a couple of weeks ago...I am so homesick, it's not even funny! I can't imagine moving here permanently.

Shelly - January 31

I bet! Anyways,I was enjoying chatting with you....but Jesse just woke up from a 3 hour nap!!!

Are you in Holland? We have friends in Holland and they have a baby girl and when she visits the states she buys all sorts of stuff cus she said they don't have squat over there like we do for babies or personal products.

Heisi, I am from Holland but live in the USA.Jamie is from the USA but is stationed in Germany.I don't know about your friends in Holland, but there is plenty to get over there.Zwitsal baby products are wonderful,My dad (he still lives in Holland) send me a box full of Zwitsal baby products,I use them together with the Aveeno products over here. Also I have received a lot of clothing for Jesse as he has been growing and I have to say they were really cute!!! Maybe they don't know where to go? Are they Dutch or are they Americans living there?

Thanks ladies...DawnC, have no fear; we're staying with relatives the whole time, and everyone has a computer and internet! I can't wait to get to the States where stuff is in ENGLISH...lol...I mean, I've picked up quite a bit of German in the year I've been here but it's definately not the same. LOL The one thing I'll miss while I'm there is the no speed limit on the autobahn! LOL

I'm with you on being homesick Jamie! I am suffering bad here too! I miss hearing English, reading English, people who hold the door for you (are they rude in Germany too?), and tons of other stuff. The thing is, we're here indefinitely :(...... Oh well, it's not that bad, there's also alot of stuff I'd miss about here if I went home. Bakeries, marzipan, rye bread....!! Well have fun back home!

CEM, I thought it was just cause we're Americans! Let me tell you, there is NOTHING nastier or ruder than someone who lets their UNLEASHED dog come onto OUR porch and poo in front of our front door! There's no cause for that! And, I can tell it was an unleashed dog, or a dog on one of those retractable leads, cause while there were pawprints in the snow, there weren't any footprints. That's just nasty and uncalled for - if you're gonna let your dog poo on someone else's porch, you could at least pick the poo up!!! I mean, geez! LOL - sorry, didn't mean to go into a mini-rant there.

CEM - February 1

That's nasty Jamie! I don't think they really understand the concept of cleaning up after their dogs here either.... I can't tell you how many times I've stepped in dog doo that was left right on the sidewalk. If you say hi to someone here they look at you like you've just stepped off a flying saucer. I think I can count on one hand how many times someone has used the word thank you in the almost 3 years I've been here! It's like they pride themselves on how rude they are! Progressive my a''!!!

Well her husband is from Holland and she's from Jamaica. They got married and live in Holland and so does his family. I know when she was here to visit she was buying tons of pantiliners for g-strings! She said they don't sell them over there and a lot of other femanine stuff. When they came to visit he was in every sports shop buying up all the Viking and Twins clothing he could find! Big sports nut. I'd love to go there some time. Mom says it's just beautiful. She kept going off about how the grocery stores were soooo nice comared to ours. Ha ha! What's wrong with Walmart? Ha ha!
