Late Talker

I was wonder about what age your lo should really be talking. Angelina is 14 months and she says mama and dada and so sometimes good, but that is about it. She babbles often and follows directions but just does not talk real words hardly at all. She has been walking well since 9 months, can eat with a fork, climb steps, etc. I am just wondering if I should be concerned about the lack of talking. Any input would be great!!!

I think she sounds like she's doing well for her age. My daughter had just a few words even by age 2, but a few months after turning 2 her language took off. She is 3 today (it's her b-day) and she's speaking in complete sentences, using larger words, etc. and is very clear! Your dd has plenty of time and you'll be amazed that when they "get it"... they start adding words like crazy and it really takes off!

Like sahmof3 said, she sounds good for her age. At 15 months they are only expected to have a voc of around 5 words. Here is a good resource link about speech development: h ttp://w ww.babycenter.com/refcap/toddler/toddlerdevelopment/11741.html (remove any spaces and dashes)

Hey Tina Marie- Kyler and Angelina share the same bday. At this point he says hi, kitty, dazy, dada, ball and mama although I can't get him to say mama ever but he did go thru a 1 day mama phase. Anyway I think Angelina sounds prefectly normal! Isn't this a fun age?
