Little Pimples

Sprinkles - July 5

My daughter is 5 weeks old and has this little rash of pimples on her face - kind of on her cheeks and behind her ears on the back of her neck and some on her scalp - I did a search on it and it looks like baby acne but it seems to be spreading because yesterday it wasnt on her scalp.. I wonder if anyone else's baby has had this and if it was on their scalp - everything i read about it says its on the face some places say neck but nothing i read says the scalp. So before i run to the doctor I just want to see if anyone else has experienced this and if it can also be on their scalp and what I can do if anything to help clear it up. I heard just to wash her face with warm water a few times a day and I also read one woman ate organic yogurt once a day... any advice is appreciated - Thanks!

Hi Sprinkles, yup my little girl started getting this at 3 wks really bad and now at 5 wks it is still there and had spread to her back and chest. There is nothing to be done to clear it up, it is from the hormones left in the baby from delivery. Time will clear it up. I know it looks bad but this shall pa__s. I was told not to scrub her cause it was not caused by oil or dirt. If there is a way to clear this up faster I would love to hear it!!!

Hmm i dont know she said it has to be organic low fat and she said NOT fat free then she said you can mix strawberries etc in it but one serving a day is what you need and her babies went away in 4 days .. now.. that leads me to believe i have to get the plain yogurt (gross lol ) ... she had posted that cause someone recommended it to her and she made it as a suggestion but wondered if that was what cured it herself or if it was just coincidence. When I go to the store tomorrow I am going to pick it up and try it .. I will definatly let you know what happens.

Dawn, King has the same thing. I just noticed it spreading to his scalp also. The reason why yogurt is helpful is because it has acidopholous in it which helps with acne and yeast. When I got the mast_tis and had to go on antibiotics, I was told to eat yogurt and take acidopholous pills to prevent King from getting thrush also. I'm not a big yogurt fan, but let me know if it works and I'll pick some up.

ahh ok ..and see he is also close to violets age so I guess its pretty common. I dont care for yogurt myself but they said one serving a day so i figure a serving may be like a couple spoonfuls or something i have to check the package. I'll force it down lol and let you know what happens.

Yes, Jaxon just started getting baby acne about a week ago (and Violet and him are only 4 days apart) and its starting to clear up. He just had it on his cheeks though. He still has a bit of milia also. I love yogurt and eat Activia at least 1x a day. Maybe eating that brand will work...it's d__n tasty!

Update time - I wasnt going to try the yogurt cause i thought it just had to run its course - but it was getting worse these little pimples ..seemed she was getting more and more so i finally started the yogurt I had one a day the yoplait lowfat and it is now day 3 and her pimples are gone from her chest and back - her face is almost completly cleared up .. they are like dried out now skin still feels a little rough cause they are going away but to look at her you cant see them ...she has maybe 3 little tiny ones left on one cheek but she had them all over her forehead and all .. so i doubt it was just coincidence I think the yogurt worked -
