LO Now Mobile And Refusing To Sleep

So this is my dilemma. DD has always been an awesome sleeper. When it was bedtime, we'd take her to her room, put her down on her tummy, and she'd go right to sleep. Now, shes recently learned how to army crawl, rock on all 4's, sit up unassisted.. so when I put her in her crib, she doesnt go to sleep, she just plays. Eventually she cries, I flip her onto her stomach, and she goes to sleep. Does this sound normal? Around what age will she realize that crib=sleeping..?

This sounds exactly like my son when he learned to roll over and army crawl. He was so excited by his new found skills that he would practise all. night. long! My baby books says this is normal. :)

I should add that he is now 10 months and flops all over his crib before he falls asleep. He is hilarious to watch. I think he is trying to find his favorite sleep position.
