Hello everyone. This post is not about TTC or pregnancy. I'm sure you've all heard about little MADELEINE McCANN, the British little girl who went missing while on holiday with her family in Portugal, well it's now been a year. I just thought it would be nice if we took a moment to remember her and remind ourselves to keep looking. here's the website link w w dot findmadeleine dot com Take a look, e-mail the link on to all your contacts in your part of the world and please pray for her safe return. I'm going to post this everywhere today. it doesn't need replies. Good luck to all TTC or all who have reached their goal XX

My heart goes out to them - you couldn't imagine...You can only hope she was taken by someone who wanted a daughter and nothing worse.....BUT they remain unrepentant about leaving their children unsupervised...THAT totally astounds me...I have 4 children and would NEVER dream of leaving them alone in a hotel room....holiday or not....they could be all night - never-wake-up-children and I would still never do it!!! They still don't think they did anything wrong....Obviously its wrong what happened to them and you wouldn't wish it upon your worst enemy...but not to accept some responsibility.......But the poor child.....

We were just talking about this yesterday. We are staying in a hotel on Saturday night so we can go to dinner with friends in the city. We're planning on using the hotel babysitter (they recomend someone, you call and make the arrangements). I'm a little stressed about this though. My LO has a nanny daily but I don't know this babysitter. My husband contends that there is more good in the world than evil. Should I worry about this? We'll only be a five min walk from the hotel but I am afraid of baby snatchers!!!

I would presume that the hotel has already vetted the service?? I think your husband is probably right - but with the news service of today you hear of the bad so much more easily and quicker.....We have been on holiday a couple of times with our kids - in hotels - and used their day and evening care.......I do think that most reputable hotels have checked any child care services/carers out...Although I have been known to come back unexpectedly to see that my children were content...paranoia!!

It's the Westin and I spoke by phone to the babysitter. She has all of the background checks, FBI checks, etc., etc. I wonder if the baby will freak out??? I was planning on getting her down for the night (usually this can happen by 7 pm and we hope the pool will poop her out so this happens easily) and THEN bring the babysitter into the room. My LO usually sleeps through the night so probably won't wake up. But if she does it will be this total stranger. UGH! And what if the total stranger goes and sells her on the street to some freak for a few hundred bucks for her crack habit??? I can't help but be concerned, it's instinct I guess.

Chances are your dd will sleep the night away and not even know...lol ...And I think you'll notice the crack habit..hmmm....;-)
