Well, it's been 3 days of rice cereal for Daniel and today was the first stinky poo! I was just about out the door, when Daniel started to fuss, so I told my mom I'd quickly change him. Well, oh my! My poor mother was trying hard not to gag LOL. I've been told things will only get stinkier as he continues to eat more solids. Well, I've got a big presentation at the museum tomorrow, so I should get some sleep, hope everyone is snuggled in bed and getting rest so they feel better. Hugs to all the little ones.

m.cthrn(at)yahoo.com - what can I say - Hudson and I still have the stomach flu. He goes back to the doctor this afternoon and I'm a little nervous about him being dehydrated. He won't drink the water or pedialyte and is only taking about 15, maybe 20 ozs a day. I can tell he's lost weight - all his little pants are falling off! I'm pumped full of anti-nausea meds, but they make me drowsy and it's hard to function. It's been over 5 days - how long can this possibly last??? boolie - sorry to hear you and Dez are sick again. apr - excited for the opics and Mingill - haha! Stinky poo! Fun, eh?

Shannah - February 20

I bought Daniel some Oatmeal to try, maybe he'll like it as much as the rice. Okay, here's my problem, I like my sitter, she seems nice and everything, but she keeps telling me Daniel needs to eat more. I'm pumping as much as I can and he's getting 6oz per meal. But she says since he fusses after his bottle he must be hungry. The thing is, he never fusses when we (my mom, aunt, cousin, DH or myself) feed him. He's used to getting plenty of one on one time and snuggles after his bottles. I always hold and snuggle him after b___stfeeding. So I think it's just that he's missing his snuggles. So how do I tell her he's not hungry, he just wants love and attention. And to stop telling me my baby is hungry because it's starting to p__s me off.

mingill i would tell her nicely that usually after he feeds he cuddles with me and i think he is missing that bond, and go on with everything you said about he is normally not fussy after feeding. i don' think that is rude at all. do you give him any water yet? you can leave a 1 ounce bottle of water if she feels like he needs something little to drink.

mcatherine - February 21

I agree with Shannah - tell her to give him water afterwards of he is fussy! Just remember that even if she cuddles him it isn't the same as mom or g'ma!!Shannah - what car seat did you buy? Hubs took Hudson to his 6 mo check up yesterday and he weighs 18.11 and is 29 inches long. Thing is - 29 inches is the limit on his infant carrier! I have to get him a seat by this weekend!!!

mcatherine - February 21

apr - you got me all excited about the pictures. Do we get them soon? haha

mcatherine - February 21

Shannah - are you feeding Nick twice a day or did you go the three times? Sorry, I forgot...

Shannah - February 21

still at twice a day, need to start on three, just can't figure out a schedule. nick naps from 10-12 and then i usually give him a bottle when he is up so i think the noon feeding will be a bottle and solids at the same time.

mcatherine - February 21

Our evening meal is a bottle with solids. He won't seem to do it any other way - even when we added a 2nd container of food! Although the bottle only has 4oz in it, he still wants it! The doc told us to phase into 3x a day, but I think I'll wait until he is over the tummy flu. Boy, am I sick of poo-poo! Yuck.

Mingill - February 21

Thanks for the advice ladies, I'll suggest the water tomorrow. Daniel is currently asleep (for once) so I have some time after work to unwind. I was so exhausted this morning , I slept right threw my alarm, so I was 30 minutes late because I had to feed Daniel before I could leave. So I stayed an extra 30 minutes to make up the time. It's a good thing I have keys. Daniel continues to grow, and we think he might be recognizing music and attempting to mimic it. When we sing to him, he makes noises in time with us. And when we use a rattle to play a tune, he gets his rattle and shakes along with us (too cute). He's so good a mimicing. He scared me the other day, I found him face down in his crib, he'd flipped in his sleep. So, now that he can turn, does that mean it's okay for him to sleep on his tummy? He still can't roll from front to back though, he just gets mad and then plunks his face down. I didn't know what to do, so I flipped him onto his back and kept checking him through the night. We don't give Daniel water yet, but I was planning on introducing it soon. I just bumped his cereal up to twice a day. I might try some veggies next month, MC I know Hudson reacted to peas, so what's the best to start out with? Oh, yeah what carseats have/are you ladies getting, mcatherine like Hudson, Daniel is fast outgrowing his infant seat so we need to get him a new seat too.

Shannah - I think we may go with the Marathon from everything I have been reading. They have the on the BRU website - so I really hope they sell them in store, too! Thanks for the info!!

mcatherine - February 22

Mingill - I don't know how I missed your post - just an idiot, I suppose... We did start with peas, but I don't really count that as they made his face break out almost immediatley! We "started" with sweet potatoes then applesauce the squash... Hudson loves to eat - thats for sure! Of course lately - he's so sick of applesauce and bananas since the doctor told us to fill him up on those to help with all the poop!!! I think we are getting the Britax Marathon. Its about $260 (usd), but the weight limit is 65lbs as opposed to the 40lb limit for all the other seats. Rated #1 in safety and every review I read was positive. Our second choice is the Evenflo Triumph (about $180usd) - it seems to be rated #2/3 in safety but there seem to be a lot of complaints about the straps being hard to adjust (although two reviews said it was hard until they sat down and actually read the instructions..lol). Hudson is at the length limit on his seat, so I plan to get it this weekend. As far as I know - they say when they are old enough to roll over to sleep on their tummies it is ok to leave them there. Hudson has been sleeping on his side - we roll him onto his back, but he goes straight back to his side so I figure what is the point??? I admit I need to sing more to Hudson - he likesit when I sing but it makes everyone else cringe, lol, so I only do it when we are alone! The doctor told us that the only milestone they were checking for at his 6 month appt was if he was pa__sing things from hand to hand. He is, so I guess that means we are right on... We have an expensive weekend ahead - new car seat, new computer, new mattress for Hudson, the high chair/grocery cart floppy cover and Hayes needs new shoes and since he is in adult sizes I expect to spend atleast another hundred there.... Ouch - I need to go back to work just to finance the weekend!! Sorry to hear you are so tired....take some time to rest over the weekends - catch your breath a little!
