Mosquito Bites

My dd is 5 months old and she has a nasty mosquito bite on her cheek. I feel so bad for her!! It doesn't bother her (thank goodness) but it looks like the mosquito had a 7 course meal on her chubby little cheeks. Is there anything I can put on it to help it heal? I am surprised this is the first one she has gotten. I am sure this is just the first of many bites to come. We live with a river on one side of us and a golf course on the other. Thanks in advance!

My dd has a rash one time and I was told I could put 1% cortizone cream on it. I know cortizone cream is anti-itch, so you could try that. I know it doesn't bother her, but it might help heal it faster. Poor little thing.

Thanks Kel. I will try that.

I heard that meat tenderizer is good for mosquito bites.

huh? anyways I agree will Kel on the hydrocortizone cream, the pharmacist gave me that to use on my one month old, when she had a rash on her cheeks. She was constantly skratching them. Maybe that will help :)

Calomine lotion (they pink stuff) may help. Lucky for you she not bothered by the bite...poor little thing. Sounds like a good Kodak moment to me:)

If she isn't bothered by it - let it be. It's a bite, not a rash - cream will not make it heal faster - only time will do that.
