My 11 Month Old Walks On Her Tip Toes

My 11 month old... almost 12 months... walks on her tip toes. Sometimes she does it to a point where she is actually on the top side of her toes and then she falls. She will stand up to things but never lets go because she is always on her tip toes. The doctor says she should be learning how to walk by around 1 year but how can she if she is on her toes like that. Is this normal?

My lo is almost 11 months, and she just started walking by herself. I noticed that when she was furniture walking she would go on her tiptoes a lot, but now that she lets go and walks on her own she doesn't use her tiptoes, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, she'll instinctively know what to do on her own when it's time for her to walk.

I used to do that....I walked on my toes until I was in grade school so unfortunately I dont have an answer as to how to get her to stop it. But on the plus side...I was a natural at ballet! :-)

My dd did not walk on her tiptoes, but my mom had told me before she started walking that the first stage is walking on their toes, so I think it's normal.
