My Baby Has Another Ear Infection

Autumn just got over an infection in her right ear, and I noticed she started to pull on her right ear again a couple of days ago. So, I took her to the doctor today, and she has another ear infection--in her left ear. I feel so bad...I try to do everything to prevent infections....I br___tfeed, I try to have her upright, I'm obsessive about washing my hands and making sure everyone who holds her does too. She has to go to daycare though, which I feel guilty for also, but I have to pay the bills.... I think germs get passed around a lot there. I just feel so bad.... :-(

Did the doctor say what could be the cause of it? Or did he give you a general list of causes? Sorry for the both of you. I know that it is so hard on us when our little stinkas are sick. : )

Well, she did mention that she seemed to have a bit of a sinus infection too, and that ear infections run hand in hand with sinus infections. I'm beginning to think that Autumn may allergic to my cat.....anyone want a cat??? lol

remove the hyphens and that link will work. It talks about how antibiotics are overprescibed for ear infections. You can treat an ear infection very efficiently with b___st milk. Good luck! Sorry your baby is hurting.

Does Autumm take the pacifier?

AutumnsMommy - January 9

Yes, Autumn does take a pacifier. Does that increase or decrease the risk?

i just read on another thread that someone posted that paci babies are 3x more likely to have ear infections. just an fyi, doesn't necessarily mean that the cause this time....

Just today i read an article that said babies who take a pacifier are 3X more likely to get ear infections. b4 i saw that article i thought b___stfeeding would protect against it. My niece was b___stfed and had a couple of ear infections before she turned 1and was extremely attached to the pacifier. I wonder now if thats the reason for her recurrent infections.

Have you considered a dairy allergy? Dairy allergies are often the cause of ear and sinus infections. You should try eliminating dairy for 2 weeks and see if it helps. Be sure to check lables for hidden dairy products. Hope this helps.
