Hi all, can you please tell me how much a newborn would gain for the first month. I want to buy diapers for newborns and don't know how much I will use a newborn size and when I should start to buy #1 size. Thanks a lot

Its hard to tell. I used 2 or 3 packs. They grow really fast. My favorite was pamper swaddlers. I have a lil guy and he is 10 wks old and already in the 12-18lbs diaper. I used Huggies and luvs and pampers baby dry. My fav is the swaddlers. The others leaked really bad. At times the swaddlers did to I guess it all depends on how his plumbing is laying!!!!!!!!!!!!

SORRY!!! TO ANSWER your question on weight gain, my li guy is strictly a b___st baby. He was 7lb 7oz at birth. When we left hosp he was 7lb 2oz. At 2wks he was 8lbs 10oz. At our 2mth app for shots he was 8 1/2 wks and was 14lbs 1 oz

we only used 1 pack of newborns for Tasia until they started leaking really bad..they were huggies though...we use pampers baby dry size 1 now and they work really good. Tasia is 6 weeks..and has used size 1 since she was like 2 weeks old

It's hard to say. Ellie is 3 1/2 months and just now switching over to size 1 diapers.

wow she is 3 and a 1/2 months and just switching to newborns?! =O She must be tiny! =) How much does she weigh? Tasia was 7lbs 7oz at birth so she was almost into the newborns right away. She is 9lbs 7oz now at 7 weeks.

LOL I meant just switching to size 1's! =)

My daughter was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth - she never wore newborn diapers, she was in size 1s right away.

We used newborn diapers (we got two packs of them at the baby shower) about 2 weeks as Ben was 8 lb at birth and down to 7 lb 7 oz when we left the hospital. He was back around 8lb 1 oz at one week and 8 lb 8 oz at two weeks. He is bf. I agree w/ Dawn that the Pampers Swaddlers are the best. I had a sample of Huggies baby-shaped fit and those seemed nice. I've has lots of leaks w/ Huggies Supreme and Luvs.

I went through about 10 bags of Newborn Pampers Swaddlers cus Emma was only 6 lbs 14 oz and now she's 11 wks old and almost 11 lbs but I went to the size 1 packs around 8 wks cus the newborn ones just seemed too small. Huggies newborns sucked. I have two bags and they leaked terribly. Luvs were good. But even now in size one I had like 4 bags of Huggies and the still leak. I hate them. When you compare them to any other brand you can see why. There's hardly any elastic inside to hold in leaks compared to even Target's brand. I like those too.

Asjani was 8lbs 2oz at birth. The hospital only used size 1's on Asjani...I had some newborn diapers at home, but they were small on her.

Sophia was 6lbs 14oz at birth. She wore newborn diapers for about a month. Her b___t was the size of half of a medium orange when she was born. My other daughter weighed 6lbs 4oz and lost a pound in the hospital. She wore preemie diapers while she was there, and newborn diapers the first week she was home.

My daughter is 8 weeks and and she was out of new borns at about 6 weeks, she was 7lb 13oz born. I'm in australia so i guess our packaging is different we go by kgs but she's in the 4-8kg packs and we get 44 in a pack and they last about a week so the new born ones i had where packs of 90 or so and they lasted neally 3 weeks, so i had two big pack and a little pack for hospital. i hope that helps.
