My son does this too!! He's 15 days old...I have a dr appnt tomorrow so I will ask about this. I'm not sure if we should be worried or not. I'll let you know what my dr says.

Oh my goodness, guys, when my baby was a newborn he did this - it was awful and kept me awake all night! I was so afraid and called the dr and they told me it was normal. I really thought it was abnormal. My husband would call him "goat boy" and I would get so upset! Then, all of a sudden he just grew out of it. It was like his system matured...

Babies are loud breathers that's for sure. Totally normal I read when they're this little. Emma quit doing it after a couple months.

it's totally normal. it could be mucus...my son would breathe that way if he was crying a lot and then went to sleep. my doctor also told me to use the nose aspirator thingy to help with breathing if that was a problem.

To Kris D, when did your baby grow out of it?

my daughter did that after the hep b vaccine. it went on for about a week. started again when she had her two rounds to complete the dose. dont even ask what happened at her 2 month visit..

I have to take the opposite side on this one. I was told by my GI specialist it is not normal for babies to snore. I guess it depends on what your LO is doing. Mine has reflux which backs into his sinus's causing problems. Asthma can rattle as well. I'd at least ask your ped to make sure all is okay. Betetr safe than sorry.
