Not So Sure What To Think About This

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Supreme Court has cleared the way for a Chinese couple to be reunited with the daughter they placed in foster care with a Memphis couple nearly eight years ago. The decision overturns a previous one by a judge who had taken away the parental rights of the Chinese couple. Their daughter had been living in Memphis since she was 3 weeks old. The family gave up their daughter while facing legal and financial hardships, and have been arguing in court for years that they sent her to live in Memphis temporarily so she could have access to health insurance. They said they tried to get their daughter back, but the Memphis couple refused to give her up, and they have been trying to adopt her.

I saw this in a magazine this past year. I think it was Readers Digest. So sad but for the daughters benefit I think she should stay with the other family. Can you imagine taking a child away from the only parents they have ever known at the age of 8. I can't even imagine it for a toddler much less an older child. So sad either way.

Truely a lose/lose situation.

I feel sorry for the biological parents, but that girl has known the adoptive ones for so long !

I was adopted at birth, and if someone came looking for me I would be absolutely devastated! They gave her up so that she could have a better life, they should leave it that way.

weird, the little girl is called anna mae, just like my dd. it is strange to read her name pertaining to someone else. i am sure glad nobody is taking my anna mae!!!
