I took my dd to the doctor and the doctor confirmed that my dd has the stomach flu. She has been sick for the last 3 days and does not want her bottle. So I want to try by putting some oatmeal cereal (she likes oatmeal better than rice) in her bottle. So i bought the Dr Brown Y Cut nipples and tried by adding 1 tbsp of oatmeal to the bottle (4 oz). It looked like nothing is coming out of the nipple( may be I made it too thick). Am I doing something wrong? I desparately need help. Someone please help me. Thanks a lot.

I use the Y nipple sometimes when I put cereal in it and it works fine. It may be all clumping up in the nipple. What I do is when dd has the bottle in her mount I swish (sp?) it around the the cereal mixes up a bit. If that doesnt work then maybe take a knife and make the hole a bit bigger. Hope this helps and I hope your lo feels better soon :-(

It sounds like its a little too thick. Just try adding a little less - turning the bottle over and squeezing the nipple to make sure that something comes out. When you heat it - the cereal will thicken, too. I made the warm bottle - then added the cereal a little at a time to make sure it would still come out. (If she won't take it, I still say try some flavored - that's how I finally got my son to eat) With Dr. B's - just shake it from side to side rather than up and down. The stomach flu is rough - I feel for you and your daughter. Just make sure you wash your hands a lot so you don't get it too!!! Hope she feels better!
