OT I M So Relieved Routine Is Working Yayyy

I just had to express my happiness. My 5wk old slept from 11;30last night through 7:30 this morning with two quick feedings and changes in the night. I've been trying to get him into a routine a bit, but I wasn't expecting results until about 3 months. So far he's been up round the clock only taking little catnaps with no pattern or schedule whatsoever-which I know is normal at such a young age. My hubby and I had been doing shifts-he works afternoons and takes over for me a midnight and I sleep till about 5am and then we switch which leaves no time for eachother, and it's been pretty exhausting. So I've been doing the bath, bottle bed thing and keeping the lights really low at night and quiet. But last night and the night before my ds has kept a great (manageable) schedule and I'm so excited. My husband were actually able to sleep together last night! Thanks for letting me share my good news.

YEAY! Congrats to you guys! I personally don't think it's ever to early to start the routine! We started (well, tried) from the second week we were home! Whatever you do, try to stick with it every night:-) Congrats to you guys again:-)

Great! I did not try a routine with my oldest until after I went back to work and it took her a week to get into it. So with my youngest, I started the routine right away. I didn't really expect her to take to it right away and I figured I wasn't going to be set on a clock time but more on her time. She was on a schedule of sorts in no time! I am gald that your routine is working for you. Just fair warning, you will still have bad nights. Also might want to pop in at baby poops on the signs of preg board as they were asking about you!
