OT Another Car Anybody Have A Honda CRV

Yes it's me again asking another car question, but I need input. I have wanted a CRV for awhile, I know Honda's are awesome. I know some ppl think they are too small for a family, but we only have one child, and would only have 2 max. I know the CRV's hold their value and are great little SUV w/ all wheel drive. Does anyone have one?? Do you love it?? Have any complaints with it, I'm in the market for a new car and have decided against looking at the Kia Sportage, it's just too risky for me to have what could be a bottomless money pit. Thanks.

I have a Honda Pilot we went to test drive a CRV and then I saw the Pilot test drove it and went homewith it that day IMO the Pilot is so much nicer we went used (It was a year old and low miles) so the price was a bit higher but I am in love with it. I do think any Honda is a great choice though just don't test drive the Pilot cuz you wont want the CRV then hehe

LisaB what are the differences other than the size?? I know they are roomier. Do they drive more like a truck? I want a CRV mainly because of price and MPG, they get like 25 miles to the gallon, and I like in a rural area so I have to drive, and drive to get anywhere. Is the Pilot a V6? I just know that this really is the car that we want to get, but wanted opinions on it.

I meant live in a rural area, this is like the 10th typo for me today, geez.

My husband's friend just bought one and he loves it. It's great on gas, it was a great price, it drives well, it's roomie (he doesn't even have kids), it's good in the snow, and he said he has had no problems. Hondas last long too. I really think you'd be happy with ANY honda, look around, they're great cars. Kias are cheap and you definitely don't get your moneys worth. It's important to have something good in the long run, my dad does NOT listen to me and keeps getting cars that DON'T last even three years...I of course recommend a honda to him haha. Good luck.

I fully agree Brittany, I don't want a hunk of junk. I actually just found a Honda certified CRV for a reasonable price, I have heard great things about them and know I would be happy.

My dh just got the new one a few months back. He loves it. We are a honda family. We have had an accord, an element and we are on our second minivan. We takes our two kids out in it with no problem. He traded in his awesome truck for t his becaue of gas prices and has never regretted it.

The PIlot is 18city/24 hwy 2wd and 17/22 4wd the CRV is 23/30 2wd and 22/28 4wd for gas milage so yeah the gas milage kinda sucks. But it handles AWSOME in all the snow we have gotten lately. ANy Honda is a great buy we had the Element before and LOVED LOVED LOVED it it just isn't practical with the car seats. Honda gets great safety reviews also.

Well you are all helping me in my decision, I know that Hondas rock and now just have to decide what we really want. I'm not too concerned on the size factor, if it really became an issue we would upgrade at some point. It sounds like exactly what I thought the Honda is the way to go. I just want something good for the snow that is reliable and won't leave me stranded, as my old car is doing now. Thanks all for the great input, I knew in my heart that this was the best vehicle for our family, I just needed to get more info from ppl who own or have driven them.

We have a 97 Honda CRV, which we bought when it first came out. We bought it 2 weeks before my daughter was born and she is now 9; we also have a 7 month old son now. Ours has 165k miles on it, so we definitely have put it to good use. We really have not had any problems with it. My husband loves his CRV and hates to sell it , but the time has come. We also have a Honda Odyssey, which is 2 years old and I absolutely love it!

OMG, just read my post and realized I sound like I have a 3rd grade education. What is should have read is "He" takes the kids out in it. not" We takes"....DUH!!!

Just wanted to add that the CRV has been great in the snow!

SonyaM-I have been terrible with the typos today, I just cannot get my brain together. The only thing my brain is on right now is a new car.

We are totally a Honda family! We have a 2003 Honda Pilot and 1997 Honda CRV. The CRV has 150,000+ miles on it and is still going strong. The Pilot is of course bigger and is more of our "family car". My husband drives the CRV to work, 70 miles a day.

We are on our second CR-V. The first one, a 2004, was totaled in an accident, but we liked it so much that we got another one (2006). I have to say, it really held it's value (even though it was only 2 years!). We can fit a ton of stuff into it, and it drives beautifully. No complaints, and I highly recommend them.

CRV's are very nice. My neighbor has one and really likes it. Of course for the price, it should be. But 15-20K for a depreciating a__set? Americans are crazy with their cars.
