Does anyone know a good cream or something to put on frostbite? Dh worked outside the other day & has it on his hands. Thanks!

Has he seen a dr? It can be dangerous and cause complications...sometimes antibiotics are prescribed for deep frostbite to prevent infection. How bad is it?

No he hasn't seen a dr. Trying to get him to go is like pulling teeth! He says it's not that bad. I've never seen it before so I really don't know.

I know there are three different stages....frostnip, superficial frostbite and deep frostbite. The deep can cause such damage that amputation is sometimes required. Check out this link to see which sounds like your dh: ht tp://ohoh.essortment.com/frostbitetreatm_rjou.htm (no spaces or dashes). My mom once dated a man who lost 4 toes to frostbite.....ick!

A co-worker was lost in a wilderness area in November 2006 and nearly lost his life. He has severe frostbite and fortunately only had to have 4 toes amputated. I only know of him being on antibiotics and major painkillers. If any of the flesh is dying, he MUST go see a doc right away. Infection would be his worst enemy.

WHen I was little, we had a cat that lost both the tops of her ears to frostbite. It was always my mom's biggest fear when we lived in MN.

Poor kitty, Pirates! I don't think dh's frostbite is that bad. He's not complaining about it and you know men are big babies!
