OT Read Labels

I was SO MAD!!! I bought dd some canned peaches the other day and saw that ( I think it was Del Monte) they had cans of fruit that was packed in water ~~ no sugar, no "syrup" etc. I thought great, packed in water is excellent. So I bought them. Well, after eating a little bite of one of the peaches, I thought I detected a funny aftertaste but didn't really give it another thought. When I was back at the grocery store, I checked the label...and it had SUCRALOSE! Ugh! What is the point of packing the damn fruit in water, if you are only going to add artificial sweeters anyway?!?! I would never have knowingly given my dd those chemicals. I am still mad. Anyway, I advise everyone to be extra careful when reading labels.

I toally agree with you! It is so frustrating when companies do that. So now I stand there in the store and read the label from everything I get for her....

I agree, it's really hard to find anything without added junk. I try to do as much as I can fresh, but thats hard too.

Everything is starting to have artificial suger in it. Almost everything that says "no sugar" or "sugar free" has a sugar subsit_te in it.

I would be made too!! Thats why i have always given my son natural fruit. You never know what companies put in their food these days and by watching shows that warn you about these products they dont put ALL the ingredients on the label anyway.
