OT This Is Really Weird

I'm doing laundry today, and we have a top-loading washer. Well, TWICE, I have gone in the laundry room to switch the load over to the dryer to find the lid already open and the clothes sopping wet, like it didn't get to the spin cycle. I have not been opening the washer!! This is so freaking weird!! I haven't heard the lid fly open either (and I would definitely hear it if it had opened very quickly, it would have smacked the wall.) I'm a little nervous now.

IS it shaking during the rinse cycle and maybe that is jaring it loose?

duck tape it shut.

how funny! I though it was just me! This happens to me too, all of the time! It is so weird, I go into laundry room and lid of washer is open with clothes soaking in water - I think I forget to close it sometimes - so weird!!

You have a laundry troll too?!?!?!?!?!?! Mine just eats socks and occasionaly stops the dryer before the clothes are dry. Evil little suckers!!

Apparently, USMC_wife! waiting100, that's exactly it! And my guess would be something flys up during the spin cycle and it pushes it open (it's a heavy lid and I find it leaning against the wall, so I just dunno), but the knob is always at "off", so if it was interrupted, then the knob would be pointing at the place it was interrupted, huh? Anyway. So thanks for letting me get this quirky thing off my chest ;)
