Okay here goes, I am a single mother of an 18 month old girl.... and i think that i may be pregnant again... I was having a problem with my period ( would not go away!) so i went to the doctors (on the 13th ish of june) she switched my BC to a different kind (a 28 day pill). On the 23rd (now taking my new pill) i ended up running into an ex while i was out for the night and well...... anyways, we used protection (of course). Now (july 5th) i have finished my pill and am starting on the new pack but still, no period. I will go and get a test tomorrow likely, but in the meantime i can't sleep.... is it true that when you switch BC it takes a while to start working again...... oh dear........ what do y'all think???? ty

I think you are ok. You used protection and it's not like you were not on any kind of bc before - just a different pill... When you switched, did your doc say anything about not being "covered" for a period while you are on the new stuff? I think your missed period is due to the change in pills... Sorry for the ramble - got the little one here...

That is how I got pregnant. My doctor kept switching out my pills and never told me that it could take up to 3 months for the new ones to get in good through your system. So I was on all these different pills and then I got pregnant.

Most of the package inserts say that you may miss one period and that's ok but if you miss 2 that's when you need to worry. I think since you just switched types you are ok.
