Positive Quad Screen But Healthy Baby

For those of you who don't know, I am 18 weeks pregnant with my third child. This week I got word that my quad screen was positive for Down's Syndrome. I had the level II, and I'm awaiting the results to see if any markers were present. How many ladies here have had a positive quad screen, and then had a healthy baby?

I persanlly have not, didnt even get hte test done, but know several pwople who have had this and did have perfectly normal babies. the level II was right. We didn't have the quad screen on either pregnancy cause we werent' going to terminate no matter what, an early diagnosis on the things tested for is not bhelpful, and tehy are wrong more than they are right! The number of false pos so to speak is outragous. I will be thinking of you!

i didnt have it done either because with my first baby i got a positive and he was totally fine,my sil got a positive and also 3 markers for downs ,she didnt have the amniocentisis and the baby was fine, i dont like these tests, like emily says so many false positives,i refused it with my 2nd ds.i know so many people that got false psitives.

I agree with Shelly. I haven't been in this situation, but a guy I work with has. He and his wife tested positive on their third child. They opted not to get the amniocentes done because they were going to have the baby anyway and said they would just deal with it. They did have to go to counseling though, but quit that too. It turned out she was born a very healthy baby girl! Like the other ladies said, there are a lot of false positives out there. Good luck.
