Hello ..... I am curious ladies, my doctor wont be doing another ultrasound and i havent had one since I was 20 weeks. How were you measuring as far as the cm they take at your appointments and how did it comepare with your due date. Also how big was the baby when they were born? I just wonder because my first baby was 6lbs 5oz and 21 inches long and she was 4 weeks early, so she was a pretty large baby for her gestational age and i am worried that my son is going to be bigger, Thanks ladies. ?

I pretty much measured the same amount of cms for weeks the whole way through. dd was 1 day early and weighed 7lb 10oz and was 19 1/2 inches long

When I had mine at 36 weeks I was measuring about 48 weeks pregnant. Haha, but I had twins so I don't count.

I measured 4 weeks too big from 24 wks on. . The u/s I kept getting did show a baby slightly large for his dates, but the majority of my date/measument discrepancy was due to excess amniotic fluid. The were actually planning on inducing me at 37wks since I have a small frame/narrow pelvis, but Max had other plans. My water broke at 34wk. 16 hours and several rounds of pitocin later, I had a c/s due to a cervix that wouldn't dialate. So it will be interesting to see what happens when we try for baby # 2. There will be no hurry to deliver to keep it from being too big. So as long as my water doesn't break., they will let me keep going since it will be a c/s anyway.

My dr. told me the whole time that I was measuring large, and she kept saying that her due date was almost 2 weeks after when I knew she was due. I kept telling her there's no way shes due on this date, we didn't even have s_x! (I kept a calendar and knew when I conceived) LOL! Sure enough she was born 4 days before "my" due date and almost 2 weeks before the dr's due date and she was a perfect size. She was 7 lbs 13 oz.

Oh, Max weighed 5lbs 7oz - not bad for a 34wk'r!

Thanks ladies, i guess belly measurements arent as accurate as we think. I just hope i dont end up with a monster baby, i dotn want stiches again.

Belly measurements dont mean anything. During my whole pregnancy, I gained 5lbs, and didnt "look pregnant" until I was 9 months along. I was induced... and the nurse asked me.. "how far along are you?" to make sure I was 40 weeks.. because I sure didnt look it. My dd was a healthy 7lbs and 11oz... I just carry more internally I guess... just like some women carry more externally....

I measured right on with my 1st and he was 9 lbs. 5 oz. I was huge with my next two and they were 8 lbs. 3 oz. (girl) and 10 lbs. 6 oz. (boy).

sahm 10lbs????? ahhhhhh thats scary.

It would have been scary to have him natural (he was also 22 3/4" and had a 15" head... he was a monster!), but fortunately he was a scheduled c-section AND I was put under general anesthesia.... so don't feel too sorry for me LOL.

15 inches.....that would have hurt. My daughters was 12 3/4 inches and i got stiches, Good thing you had a c section. Yeesh.

I measured 2 weeks ahead the whole time I was pg, and my daughter was born a week late, I think they put way too much emphasis on this, my friend keeps measuring ahead of her "due" date(although she thinks she is 2 weeks ahead because of when she got pg like CyndiG). Her doctor keeps freaking her out about it though and has made her have like 5 ultrasounds, geesh. I think women all carry different, I just don't understand how they try to fit everyone in to a little box, what if you're bigger or smaller, we can't all measure the same, it seems kinda stupid to me.

I measured 3 and 4 weeks ahead of schedule starting at about 23 weeks. An u/s confirmed that she was also measuring 3 or 4 weeks ahead. Ka__sidy was born at 39weeks and 1day weighing 6lbs 4oz. They told me that she was going to weigh 10lbs.. they were WAY off! Good luck! ~ Kristin~
