This summer I want to still be able to go out to the beach for the day and go places in public, but since I am strictly B--tfeeding it makes it very difficult. My DD is 1 month old today and I was wondering what everyone thinks is an ok age to start pumping and bottle feeding away from home. Should I wait? Will it confuse her? I don't want her to get used to a bottle because I would like to still bf at home and whenever else I can. I just dont want her confused thats all...

I wish my baby would take a pumped bottle, she wont, so I unfortunantly have no advice for you! I have just learned to feed her discreetly.

Make sure that someone else gives her the bottle, that way she wont be confused. If you try to give her the bottle she will automatically try to nurse...hope that helps!

I have a 2 wk old baby girl and I pump and give her a bottle occasionally and she has no problems doing that. She still Bf perfectly fine. Maybe u could try giving her a bottle while you're at home and then later bf just to see how she does and to make sure that she will actually take the bottle b/c sometimes babies won't.My baby only gets a bottle a couple of times a wk.Good luck

thanks, I was also thinking that it might be easier for someone else to give her the bottle :)

I started my baby girl on a bottle a day of b___stmilk at 1 week old. She has had no problems both taking the bottle or switching to b___st feeding. It's great because my husband can bond while feeding her and I have some freedom to leave the house for a few hours if needed.
