Question About Pumping

I bf my ds (2 weeks + 5 days) but I want learn to use my pump. I have a couple of questions about it though. How much will he eat in one feeding from a bottle? Can I pump milk into the container, regrigerate, and then pump more into it later (on the same day)? We are going on a long car ride to visit relatives (all day) next weekend and I want to have some bottled milk for the trip. Plus if it works nicely then my dh can get in some midnight feedings for me!

I think the best advice I ever got for pumping and storing b___stmilk is to pump, them put it in a baggy or any closed container and put it in the freezer with the date and time you pumped it. You can just heat it up in warm water when you want to use it. For your trip, I would suggest putting the milk in bottles and bringing a cooler (w/ice) to keep the bottles cold in and get a portable bottle warmer. That's about the only thing you can do to warm the milk up on the road, since you have to keep the milk cold when you're not using it. That's what I'd do at least! Good luck!

from what I understand and read, you can only mix your just pumped milk with the one you already have in the fridge when they are both cold. so what I do is take a new bottle everytime I pump and mix them up when we want to use it. Right now my little one is one month old and drinked her 4 onces of milk last night(which took me two times to pump) really fast and dad taught she might have eaten more, so I'll go for 5 onces next time. I pump when she is eating on the other b___st...it seems to work better for me.
