Question For Those Who Have Potty Trained

I know there are several of you out there who are trying to or have just potty-trained ;-) What do you do when your recently trained child gets diarrhea... put the pull-up back on or try to let them know when to go potty? My dd just told me she had to go and it was diarrhea (my youngest has had it the last 2 days, too). Anyway, she went on the potty, but like 2 minutes later.... diarrhea in the pants, on the linoleum (thankfully, could've been the carpet!) and lots of mess! I have a pull-up on her now, as I'm about to leave to go clean. Have you all done this? Or will it hinder the potty-training? I honestly don't remember dealing with this with my son!

I don't think that it will hinder her training as long as once she's better you go back to not wearing them when you can.

I would go with the potty training pants too. I would just do my best to explain to her why you are putting those back on her.

I would do the pull up thing. I mean really what other option do you have? YUCK!!! I don't blame you for wanting to puke! We just put our son's undies in the trash if that happens. I tease my dh that I don't get paid enough to do that!!! hehehehe

I do what ash said. I never had a problem with setbacks either

Thanks everyone! I have had her in pull-ups all day, but no poo so far. I think I will wait until she poos again to be sure it's solid. All day she was whining about not wanting her pull-up on, but wanting underwear, I'm glad to say. (Funny that it was the opposite just a few weeks ago!!).
