Questions About Bedtime Feeding

I am wondering when i put my ds to bed at 8, i usually feed him around 1-2 am and then 5-5:30 and if he wakes up before that i give him his soother. MY question is should i keep doing that or should i wake him earlier ( when i go t bed 9 - 9:30 - 10) and feed him then in hope that he sleep to a later time? I am confused that if i wake him i am disturbing his sleep and i will be in for a disaster?

I would just keep doing what your doing. IMO, waking them up to feed is not going to be very helpful. My son was a CRAPPY sleeper for months and months. He's 6.5 months old and just last Friday night he slept 11 hours straight! I woke up a billion times thinking the poor guy was dead cause he'd never done it before. Since Friday he has been getting up one time per night and I don't have an issue accomodating that. Prior to this wonderful sleeping he's been doing, he was getting up between 3-5 times per night....he just now has doubled his birth weight, so I wonder if his size had something to do with it. Anyways, good luck....I hope he starts sleeping better for you soon, but I personally would leave things how they are.

mine has doubled his birth weight, he's 16.5 lbs, 24 inches long and is 12 weeks. It was just the last few night have gotten worse right when i thought things were getting better! He was up every 1.5 - 2 hrs all night long. I have read many times that once they are 3 months or 13lbs they can go throught a night without a feeding. I don't think my guy could and i don't mind getting up 2X for feedings but not this 1.5-2hr s**t!! why has he regressed? he was doing 4-6 hrs up to eat and then another 3 , up to eat and the rest was up and down.

Trevor did the exact same thing. And it was right around 3-4 months old when he did it. It sucked horribly, and it was an every 2 hour wake up. I think I've deleted that from my brain!! :o) I would say that he's either going through a growth spurt or he's getting ready to do some growing/milestones.....I know how hard it is when the get up constantly, but it'll pa__s shortly!! I truly do feel for you!! :o)

I looked it up and could be these****** * Your baby can bring his hands together. * With a mighty effort, baby can raise his chest, supported by his arms, when he lies on his stomach. * Baby can roll over (one way). * He reaches for objects. * Baby can put some weight on his legs when you hold him upright. * He makes sounds like "ah goo." * Baby laughs out loud. * He squeals when he's happy. * Baby smiles spontaneously. * He can focus on very small objects. * Baby turns toward the sound of a familiar voice.

so wouldn;t hesleep more if it is a growth spurt? I was told that they eat like crazy for a few days and then they sleep like crazy for a few days. I have never noticed my ds do either. His eating has always been consistant and gradually gone up in oz's when needed as he got older and heavier.

he has achieved all of these except i haven't noticed him roll yet, he has attempted but no success yet, everything else he does on a daily basis and has for a while now. THanks for all the imput, keep it coming!
