I was just wondering what your routine for breakfast is with your lo. It seems that when Bridget wakes up (after sleeping 7pm to 8am) she is not starving and will only take about 3-4 ounces of her bottle. After that I put the rest in a sippy cup and then offer her cereal. She loves the cereal...in fact she inhales it (rice crispies!!). Is this typical? Should I just get her up int he mornign and play for a bit and then offer her a bottle and cereal??

When my ds wakes up I give him his sippy w/ milk and his cereal right away. For me it's because my older two have eaten about 1 1/2 hours before that and if I wait it's too close to lunchtime. My ds is 19 months.

My son will be 1 next week and he sleeps about 11 hours. So, when he gets up I feed him breakfast right after his diaper change. Sometimes it takes me about 5 - 10 minutes to get it ready but he usually eats quite a bit. Like a whole waffle, or piece of french toast, etc and a dish of applesauce. Like this morning he ate 1 egg scrambled w/ cheese, a piece of toast, and a sippy of 1/2 juice and 1/2 water.

Hi jb. I am actually trying to get a different routine with Ethan. He turned 1 yrs old on Jan 26. When he wakes he just wants to start playing with all his toys, hes not worried about eating. But If I offer milk he will take it. So I do give him 8 oz of whole milk before he starts playing, then 2 hours after that i give him oatmeal and little pieces of toast. If bridget is only drinking 3-4oz then maybe after 1 hr of playing offer her a sippy cup with milk and cereal. I am still trying to establish a routine with Ethan so, maybe others, here can give some more advice. Good luck.
