I accidentally did my ds wash and forgot to use the Dreft. I used Tide (regular) by mistake. He is 3 months. Do you think I should wash it again in the Dreft, or is th eTide Ok to use on his clothes?

I've done that a couple of times. I never rewashed, just watched for a reaction. You could smell his clothes and if the the smell is strong, better safe than sorry and rewash, but I use TIDE too, and I never find that it leaves too strong a smell.

My db accidently did this with our daughter's clothes. I was allergic to lots of detergents when I was little so to be on the safe side. She is 6 months and has only had her clothes washed in Dreft. We were lucky and got a ton of it for our shower so we have never bought any. Does anybody know when it is safe to switch to regular detergent?

the worst thing that could happen is an allergic reaction. just watch for red dots or rash on the skin after about 15 minutes of putting it on.

I think you only have to worry if your baby has sensitive skin. For my first baby I did everything in All Free and Clear (no dyes, no detergent). Now for my second baby, I use whatever detergent is on sale. It doesn't seem to make a difference either way.

I've used regular detergent from the beginning ~blush~ so I guess it is okay! lol As long as no sensitive skin issues I would not bother with Dreft.

I use regular washing powder aswell, but i use comfort baby pure as softener.

3 months is fine for regular detergent. Dreft is good for that sensitive newborn skin. Watch for a rash and discontinue Tide if she gets one.

I really don't think you have to worry once past the new born faze
