Raspberries

My 4 mo started blowing raspberries a few days ago. Besides being super cute... does it mean anything? Is it like a milestone, or something I should be happy about, or a sign of teething, or it is just wet and noisy?

How cute!! I've heard that it means they're ready for solids - but I don't really know for sure. I'm curious as to what everyone else says.

found this http://www.parenting.com/parenting/baby/article/0,19840,1031852,00.html, says that by b__wing raspberries, it helps them learn how to move their mouth and lips together and later will be able to form words. Interesting, always thought it was just one of those super cute things babies do. Our dd is doing this and boy does a lot of spit come out, the front of her clothes are usually soaked!!

I've heard the same thing about it meaning they're ready for solids. My daughter just started doing it too, and it cracks me up, because she squeals, and then trails each squeal off with a raspberry.

my 4 month dd is doing this too! i keep telling her to say it, dont spray it, hee! she is also screeching alot, it is hilarious, like hey, listen to the noise i can make! as an ex-preschool teacher, i think that kids mostly fall into 2 camps by age 1, talkers or walkers (some do both but it really seems like one or the other). My dd hasnt rolled over yet but has been doing vocalizations something fierce -- my personal psychic prediction is that she will be talking before she is walking, i guess we'll see!
