Reaction From MMR Shot

Hi. My son had his 1 yr needles last week and the nurse advised around a week later he might develop a rash from the MMR injection. Yesterday, a week since his appt, he developed a red spotty rash all over his belly followed by a temperature of 38.6 degrees. I gave him panadol, which reduced his temperature. Today he slowly raised to 38.5 again, although the rash is no longer red. I have seen the dr and nurse, who advised it is only a reaction to the MMR shot. Poor little baby, it's so horrible seeing him upset. Has anyone else's child has this reaction and how long did it last?

My 3rd child developed a huge lump under the skin a week after his jabs... my other 2 had nothing and I totally freaked - but it seems there can be so many different reactions...they just don't tell you them all...

Oh and the lump lasted about a month!!

I've been doing some research and have found there are more severe side effects that were never mentioned. I wish they gave me more information, but it probably wouldn't have stopped me from allowing the shots. His reaction now is a very mild case of mumps, I couldn't imagine how bad it would be for him to not be immunized and catch the disease.
